FAQ

Q:  Why is my dog barking at me when I am watching TV?

A: This type of barking is called demand barking, your dog is demanding your attention.  The best way to break this habit is to ignore your dog when doing this, but bare in mind it may get worse before it gets better.  This is called extinction burst where the behavior well escalate before it diminishes. It occurs because your dog did receive attention for the behavior and now does not.  Just be patient and stand your ground, if you don’t respond it will eventually stop but if you give in after ten minutes of barking your dog has just learned if I bark for ten minutes I get what I want.

Q. Why should I Crate Train my Dog?

A.  From puppies to adults, crating a dog is an effective method of training. Successful crate training depends on the proper use of the right size, and type, of crate.   Some people think placing a dog in a crate is cruel, but this is not true. Dogs have evolved living in dens. Having a confined space they can call their own makes them feel safe and secure. Whether it’s a new puppy, or an adult dog, there are many reasons to crate train a pet.
