Meet Hope at Little Paws of Hope

Hope Garlick is the owner and one of the trainers at Little Paws of Hope, a dog training, grooming, boarding & daycare facility. Hope is a certified dog trainer and longtime member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and is also an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT) who specializes in positive reinforcement training techniques. She loves dogs and understands that some dogs have special training requirements and behavioral issues. At Little Paws for Hope, we know that harsh training methods can not only traumatize a dog but can also injure them. That's why we emphasize kindness and humane treatment in every part of the training process.

Little Dogs, Are a Big Deal

Pet training is for all dogs, whether they're small or large, young, or old, but sometimes techniques that work on certain larger breeds don't work well with the toy breeds. If your small dog is misbehaving or has behavior problems, we can work with you and your dog to discover the underlying reason behind your pup's unwanted behavior. We will offer kind and humane solutions to correct his behavior. We can help you train your dog to be a model canine citizen. Some of the problems we can help with (not exclusive):

  • Customized Training to your life style
  • House training (housebreaking)
  • Excessive barking
  • Nipping and mouthing
  • Destructive chewing
  • Not wanting to be groomed
  • Excessive energy
  • Not listening to commands
  • Digging
  • Aggression towards other dogs or people
  • And other unwanted behaviors

Start Your Puppy Off Right

If you have a puppy, it's important to start socializing him immediately. He can quickly learn that new people and new dogs can be pals and not something to be afraid of or be aggressive with. We can get your puppy used to new encounters without a negative experience. He will quickly learn to be more outgoing and friendly, plus he will learn commands that will have him listen to you more often while becoming a wonderful pet.
